Wells Mews, Westminster

From Dismissed Appeal to Completed Development

Following the refusal of planning permission and dismissal of a subsequent appeal, The Heritage Practice was appointed to unlock the development potential of this former warehouse in Westminster’s East Marylebone Conservation Area.

We identified the shortcomings of the previous proposals and took a leading role in fundamentally redesigning the roof extension, developing a heritage-led solution that addressed the Planning Inspector’s concerns while respecting the building’s distinctive industrial character.

Our intervention was instrumental in overcoming the previous planning objections and securing consent for the redesigned scheme, which has since been successfully built.

The project demonstrates our ability to turn challenging planning histories into successful, deliverable developments through practical heritage expertise and design-led solutions
